This course is designed for people who have been on our introductory course and want to improve their skills and get a bit more experience. The format
of the course is similar to the introductory one. You will work in pairs laying a length of hedge under the supervision of an experienced hedgelayer. They
will be there to monitor work, offer advice and answer any questions you may have. The essence of the course is more "supervised hedgelaying" than the actively
taught introductory course. Each tutor on the new course will be monitoring up to three pairs of students working at the same time. If anything of particular
interest crops up then the tutor may collect the groups together to point out something or demonstrate a particular technique.
Some subjects will be covered in more depth than on the introductory course such as crook selection, cutting and placement. Hedgelaying competitions
will also be discussed.
The new course takes place at the same venue and at the same time as the introductory course so the timings are the same (09:30 to about 16:00) and bring a packed lunch.
