Traditional Hazel Hurdle Making

With Martin Turner

Traditionally made hazel hurdles are the strongest and most durable of all. Martin Turner will take you through the stages of selecting hazel rods and setting up the zails (uprights) in the form or jig. He will teach you the woodsman's skill in splitting hazel rods and twisting them round the zails and will make sure that you finish the day with your own 3ft × 3ft. hurdle which will be an asset to any garden, orchard or paddock.
